Hypocrite Muslims in Kuwait Wahhabism is spreading across the Muslim world by Sami Alrabaa The number of hypocrite “Muslims” in Kuwait is on the rise. The majority of ordinary Muslims in this country are silent and intimidated by these hypocrites. The majority of hypocrite “Muslims” have never read the Koran and Hadeeth. But in public they do everything to show off that they are “pious” and “devout”. They wear a fundamentalist mask, made of a rigid version of Islam which one can safely be called “Wahhabi” used as an instrument of power and repression. Wahabbism is a vulgar version of Islam. Its fundamental pillars are veiling women from head to toe, gender-segregation, and hatred and rejection of non-Muslims. It is spreading like an epidemic across all the Arab countries, especially at the Persian Gulf. These hypocrite “Muslims” do not focus on the good in Islam, neither on its message of peace. They rather preach hatred against non-Muslims and incite violence against them. By doing so they believe they are acting in the name of Islam. Their message is brutal and simplistic: “wipe out everything that is un-Islamic (in accordance with their own interpretation of Islam) and get rid of all those non-Muslims. They preach that Islam (their Islam) will one day prevail and the world will become cleansed and Islamic.” They also preach “we are right and they are wrong.” They also claim that Wahabbism is the “best” form of Islam. Suliaman Al Shatti preaches in the grand mosque of Kuwait, “All non-Muslims are destined to go to hell, regardless of their good achievements on earth.” In other words, all those Christians, Jews, and the others who invented electricity, the car, the train, the plane, the computer, medicine, and the millions of other things which were invented over the past two hundred years which made life pleasant for mankind and which Al Shatti and his ilk daily use and enjoy, will be sentenced to hell by Allah. What kind of insane religiosity is this? Al Shatti and his ilk insist on cleansing the world from non-Muslims, the “infidels”. They scream in Kuwait’s mosques, “Fight them wherever they are. They are the enemies of Allah and his Prophet Mohammed.” In other words, kill all those who daily clean the streets of Kuwait and all those who are really doing most of the job for Kuwaitis as servants, maids and employees, in all sectors of life. The majority of which are non-Muslims. If Wahabbism were confined to the nickel heads of Al Shatti and his ilk, the danger and impact would be limited. One would argue, it is just a group of insane heads. The danger, though, lies in breeding terrorism. The Wahabbi discourse becomes perilous when young men and women rally around this discourse and act according to its doctrine. The Wahabbists who are part of Islamism, i.e. fanatic Islam, are determined to Wahabbize society. Such people have been successful in establishing Wahabbism in all sectors of society in the Arab Gulf; in schools, universities, government departments, banks, and parliament. Wahabbism has become a life-style. The Kuwaiti government is giving in to Wahabbism driven by intimidation and fear of this “ideology” rather than by conviction. To appease Wahabbists, all ministers do what these fundamentalists want and suggest. Wahabbi members of parliament led by Waleed Al Tabtab’i managed to impose strict gender-segregation in all public places, such as schools, restaurants, and banks. Public shows that include singing and dancing are forbidden. The Kuwaiti society is now controlled by fundamentalist puritans and nobody dares to object. Tens of “charity” organizations are everywhere in Kuwait and their donation boxes are placed everywhere. They have collected millions of dollars allegedly to help “Muslim brothers in Africa and Asia. These organizations are not subject to any kind of financial control. US and European intelligence services have found out that huge amounts of money collected by these organizations go to finance terrorist organizations in Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya, and Pakistan. Khalaf, a former co-worker of “Insar Africa” (supporters of Africa) told me, the leaders of these organizations have become millionaires from the collected money. “Peanuts are sent to Africa.” He said. Kuwait Finance House, allegedly a Muslim bank that does not pay/take interests which according to Shari’a are usury, is one of biggest banks in Kuwait. It takes interests on loans, but it calls them “Murabaha” (shared profit). Hypocrite Muslims have discovered in Islam a profitable trade. The majority of these people have never learned a useful profession. Most of them, particularly in Arab countries at the Persian Gulf, are government employees who do not deliver any work. Their jobs are done by cheap labor force from Asian and Africa. Local hypocrites abuse Islam to make money, much money. The Baharas, a 70 thousand Shiite strong community are not allowed to have their own mosque. The 200 thousand expatriate Christians living and working in Kuwait are not much better off. Their only church in Kuwait city is exposed to all kinds of harassment. Amanuel Ghareeb, one of the priests of this church told me, they are not allowed to expose the cross on top of the church or hold any Easter processions in its yard. Several times the walls of the church were sprayed with shit. He also received threats like, “Leave Kuwait before it is too late, you infidel bastards.” To add insult to injury, Ali Al Salem Al Sabah, an influential member of the ruling family, donated $ 90 million to charity organizations in Kuwait. Last year, the Kuwaiti government formed a committee and entrusted it with spreading “moderate Islam”. The committee is ostensibly supposed to start a campaign of “moderate Islam” among people in Kuwait. The members of the committee, Ajeel Al Nashmi, Mohammed Al Tabtaba’i, and Khudhair El Enezi are anything but moderate. They received $ 150 million from the government to do the job. Both Sunni and Shiite fundamentalists led by Saudi Arabia and Iran respectively are competing in spreading a rigid anachronistic form of Islam targeting non-Muslims, Americans, Westerners at large, and Israelis. This campaign is successful if you take into account that 60% of the population is illiterate and over 50% of are jobless.
Unless the West undertakes measures to stop this campaign, the number of fundamentalist fanatic Muslims who trade with Islam
will keep increasing. And the war on terror will take longer than we all think. Oil is important but human life is more important. The majority of ordinary Muslims believe in
religious pluralism and want to live in peace. They have
the right to do so. The roots of Muslim extremism must be dried. This is in the interest of both moderate Muslims and the West. Both regimes, the
Saudi and the Kuwaiti would listen to the West. There existence is guaranteed by the West. Without the support of the West, these regimes are
neither viable nor sustainable.
